Dresses with pockets

Dress pockets fail in two ways: they’re sewn shut, or they’re real but so shallow a phone sits half-out. Everything here has side-seam pockets at the hip, deep enough to disappear a phone in the folds.

Dress · $24.98–$32.98

HOTOUCH A-Line Midi

This is the dress I point people to when they want something they can actually live in. It’s a t-shirt on top and an A-line midi on the bottom, which means the pockets sit at your hip — not down on the thigh where you have to hunt for them. They’re sewn into the side seams and go deep enough that a phone doesn’t peek out when you walk.

The pockets are in a perfect location where I can slide my hands into them naturally.

Dress · $14.98–$19.99

Zeagoo A-Line Mini

A mini swing dress only works with pockets if they’re in the seam and the hem is long enough that the pocket bags don’t become a second hemline. These sit in the side seams, and they’re not tiny. You can drop a phone in without it knocking your knee — which is exactly when you need a place for your keys.

Pockets in the seams. Love the side pockets, perfect length.

ANRABESS Pleated Midi

Pleated midi dresses can hide a lot of sins, including shallow pockets. This one doesn’t. The pockets are deep enough to disappear a phone in the folds, and they sit where your hands actually rest — not so far back you look like you’re searching for a tail.

The pockets are great! I love the deep pockets.

Dress · $19.99–$28.99

GRECERELLE Split Maxi

A maxi with a split is where fake pockets love to hide — a stitched line next to the slit that does nothing. These are real side pockets, set so you can walk with your hands in them. Reviewers keep saying the same thing I care about: not the for-show-only kind.

This dress has REAL pockets, not the useless for-show-only kind.

Dress · $19.99–$28.99

WIHOLL A-Line Sundress

Sleeveless sundresses often cheat on pockets because there’s less fabric to hide a bag. This A-line still finds room at the side seams. Reviewers say a phone doesn’t make an unsightly bulge. Deep enough for a phone and then some, without wrecking the skirt.

Deep enough for a phone and then some without creating an unsightly bulge.

ANRABESS Sleeveless Maxi

Travel maxis get graded on wrinkles and whether you still need a bag. This one is the rare vacation dress where the pockets are part of the point. They’re not giant cargo pouches — a phone sits in without pulling the sleeveless bodice sideways.

This dress is so comfy…and it has pockets!!
Amazon reviewer
  • Just right — phone fits
  • Side seams, relaxed drop
  • Holds a phone
  • Open pocket
