A small lookbook

Clothes that actually have pockets.

Most women’s clothes have fake pockets, or pockets so shallow a phone sits half-out. I only list pieces with real bags — hip height, phone-deep, and not sewn shut. This is a lookbook, not a store. I don’t take payment. Each piece links out to Amazon.

Five categories, all with real pockets.

One from each category.

These are the pieces I send people to first. Deep pockets, honest placement, and reviews that mention a phone — not just “cute.”

Dress · $24.98–$32.98

HOTOUCH A-Line Midi

This is the dress I point people to when they want something they can actually live in. It’s a t-shirt on top and an A-line midi on the bottom, which means the pockets sit at your hip — not down on the thigh where you have to hunt for them. They’re sewn into the side seams and go deep enough that a phone doesn’t peek out when you walk.

The pockets are in a perfect location where I can slide my hands into them naturally.
Amazon reviewer
  • Deep — phone sits fully in
  • Side seams at the hip
  • Holds a phone
  • Open pocket

Pants · $36.99–$37.99

G4Free Wide-Leg Pants

Wide-leg pants are where pockets often go to die — either they’re fake, or they gap so badly they add a second silhouette. These sit high at the waist, and the pockets are cut to lie flat against the hip instead of pulling open. They’re deep. Phone, keys, a folded card.

No gap in pockets. Love the deep pockets.
Amazon reviewer
  • Deep, no gape
  • High-hip, lies flat
  • Holds a phone
  • Open pocket

Shorts · $39.95

Liberty Zipper Shorts

Zippered pockets on shorts are not a luxury. They’re the difference between “I can walk the dog” and “I am clutching my phone like a Victorian with a handkerchief.” These have a 5-inch inseam and zip pockets that actually close. Reviewers say an iPhone 15 sits fully in.

The best part is the zippered pockets. The pockets are deep enough to hold my iPhone 15.
Amazon reviewer
  • Holds an iPhone 15
  • Side zip at the hip
  • Holds a phone
  • Zipper
Amazon listing photo of the Stretch Is Comfort scoop-hem flare skirt

Skirt · $21.99–$28.99

Stretch Is Comfort Scoop

This is the unglamorous skirt I respect: mid-length, flare, actual pockets. Reviewers get loud about them because most skirts in this price range don’t bother. The pockets are large enough for phones, which is the whole site in one garment.

I love that it has pockets also!!!! Pockets that are large enough for phones.
Amazon reviewer
  • Large enough for phones
  • Side pockets on a flare
  • Holds a phone
  • Open pocket
Amazon listing photo of the MAGCOMSEN grey fleece zip jacket

Jacket · $29.99–$38.98

MAGCOMSEN Fleece Jacket

This is the jacket I list when the answer is “I want somewhere warm and a place for a phone.” Two zipper pockets on the side, plus two inner pockets large enough for a phone and keys. That’s four real bags.

Pockets are deep and warm.
Amazon reviewer
  • Deep — phone and keys
  • Zip sides + two inner
  • Holds a phone
  • Zipper

The test

How I judge a pocket.

Depth, placement, whether a phone actually stays in, and whether you need a zipper. Fake flaps don’t count. Neither do two-inch welts that dump when you sit.
